Raleigh, NC – After a month-long investigation, the state Board of Elections voted to clear Sen. Fletcher Hartsell (R. Cabarrus County) of misusing campaign funds for haircuts.

State Board member Rhonda K. Amoroso said in a statement, “We have spent countless hours investigating Senator Hartsell’s campaign fund raising, spending, and personal grooming habits. We have used other public servants as bench marks for a standard-of-hair. We have found that at no time did Senator Hartsell inappropriately use his campaign funds for any hair grooming.”
