Raleigh curfew: What does it mean and who is exempt?

RALEIGH (UNGRMRD) — Wondering what the rules are when it comes to the curfew in Raleigh? We are too!

Here are minorly bullsh*t-laden answers to some of the questions you might have, according to the City of Raleigh, or maybe according to a feral protesting teen we talked to. Either or. Apologies to WTVD, who did a really fantastic job giving actual answers to real questions.

Where/when does the curfew apply?
Everywhere within the City of Raleigh from 8pm to 5am.

I’m not protesting downtown. Can I walk around in Raleigh during curfew?

Are employees of veterinary clinics allowed to travel during curfew?
Yes.

Why?
Good question.

What about individuals experiencing homelessness?

Can I just say I’m homeless and keep protesting?
Probably.

I’m ITB. Do the rules still apply?
Yes, but Cameron Parkers and Oakwooders can apply for an “On the Side of the Angels” curfew waiver card.

What happens if I have an emergency and need to get to a hospital?
Good luck, what with the tear gas, Covid, murder hornets and all.

My business is not exempt, but I have employees arrive at 3 a.m. to open at 5 a.m. Can employees arrive at 3 a.m. as usual?
No. The City let your business burn down, so they probably don’t give a sh*t about your operating hours.

I really find this super inconvenient. Seriously, do I have to do this?
The Raleigh Police and Fire Departments have got their hands kind of full protecting your ass, so do you really think they care if you walk your Labradoodle at 9pm?
