CARY — After eighteen months of deliberation, the Cary Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve Accessible Beige as the town’s official supplementary color, joining the existing palette of Moderate Tan, Agreeable Tan, and the widely beloved Colonial Tan that has defined the municipality’s visual identity since 2003.
Harold Weinbrecht, who has served as the Town’s Mayor Perennial Emeritus since 1897, said, “We actually considered Off-White and Taupe, if you can believe it. But Accessible Beige has a vague ring of inclusion in it, so we went with that. Plus it gives the local merchants another official pop of color to choose from.”
At press time, Color Subcommittee deliberations had already begun on whether to include Veiled Mushroom as an official approved color. “Over my dead body,” said Mayor Weinbrecht.
